Midea finds London ideal for growth. Chinese white goods manufacturer saw the opportunity to establish a headquarters in Europe. Founded in 1968 in Guangdong, southern China, the company has seen rapid growth and the European HQ was the next stage of this growth. In 2004, with Think London's help, Midea made the move to Finchley, North London.
Cell Antenna Inc, a telecoms company from Florida, provide a range of cellular/mobile communications solutions to individuals, corporate clients and building owners. These solutions may boost or simply enable an area that was unable before to receive mobile communication signals. The company has set up a small warehouse in Waltham Forest.
NX Supplies have established their first European venture in Barnet. With experience of 57 years and vast professional and technical knowledge, NX specialises in supplying spare parts and components for heavy duty machinery, such as CAT® equipment and other makes, transmissions and engines. The company will also be using their European office to focus on the African market.
Insight Marketing Systems, an Australian software firm based in Melbourne, has expanded and has set up offices in Golders Green, North London, to improve services to its European clients. Established in 1992, it has since developed a series of client-specific software information systems for companies such as Kodak and Shell Australia. Its launch of its Research Reporter (web based market research portal application) is the main focus of its European activities.
Descon Ltd from Kolkata, India has established its UK office in Edgware. The company provides software solutions mainly to the power generating sector.
The Zhongguancun Science Park from China has set up an office in Colindale to promote inward and outward investments, technology exchange and co-operation between their companies and European companies and organisations.
Henan Rebecca Hair Products from the Henan Province in China have extablished a joint venture in Leyton with Sleek International under the name Hynedale Ltd. The new JV company will be marketing hair products in Europe and Africa.
ZTE Corporation, with its HQ in Shenzhen, China, has set up its European HQ office in Finchley, North London. ZTE is China's largest listed telecommunications equipment provider. The company develops and manufactures telecommunications equipment for fixed, mobile, data and optical networks, intelligent networks and next generation networks as well as mobile phones. ZTE has 13 wholly owned R&D centres worldwide and has undertaken research partnerships with electronics giants like Texas Instruments and Motorola and Agere Systems. In 2003, it achieved sales of US $1.9 billion.
