Welcome to Haringey

Haringey is a wide borough, stretching from Highgate and Wood Green in the west over to Tottenham in the east. It is bordered by central London boroughs in the south and Enfield in the north and covers over 11 square miles. Haringey is home to people from all over the world and has something to offer everyone.

Lock on the canal at Tottenham HaleHaringey was originally made up of two large manors, Hornsey and Tottenham. Over time as commerce and transport developed, the rural area of Haringey merged into the city of London. Parklands still remain, including Finsbury Park and Alexandra Park - location of the famous Alexandra Palace where public television was first broadcast from.

Shopping in Haringey will give you all that you need, from specialist niche shops to superstores, include the Wood Green Shopping City. Haringey is vibrant with entertainment from music to cinema, theatre, pubs and clubs. There are four sports centres and of course Haringey is home to Tottenham Hotspur football club.

Travel is excellent with twelve mainline railway stations, six underground stations and the A10 road taking you north to the A406 and the M25. Bus routes span the borough in every direction. You can also choose to travel by barge along the Lea Navigation.
