North London Business - Celebrating 5 years of continued growth 2004-2009

North London Business was established by the London Development Agency in 2004 as the economic development agency for Barnet, Enfield, Haringey and Waltham Forest, responsible for promoting the region and supporting business growth.  Five years on the company has exceeded all expectations and helped bring significant private sector investment into the area.

The agency has strengthened partnerships and built relationships with new organisations to help sustain business development.  It has reached key milestones including:

• Helping around 12,000 businesses over the past 5 years
• Creating and safeguarding almost 3,000 jobs in the area
• Adding nearly £70million to the local economy

North London Business provides various services for businesses and has worked well with other business support agencies over the last 5 years to ensure there is a joined up range of support to local businesses.  It has specifically delivered the following unique services to businesses which are not available through other agencies in the area:

• A comprehensive online commercial property database of premises in North London
• Connect ? The only business magazine for North London businesses
• The first ever North London Business Directory for three boroughs
• A specific series of targeted Business Surveys
• Online photo library www.northlondonphotoshop.com
• Set up various business boards across Waltham Forest, Haringey and also sector forums
• Created a series of Property Linx events to promote opportunities for development in the area to investors, developers and other property professionals
