North London Business (NLB) has worked to provide a Food Market on the route from the upgraded Leyton underground station to the North Entrance of the Olympic Park. NLB partnered with a specialist event organiser, Skateco. Waltham Forest instigated this initiative based on an expected footfall using this pedestrian route during the Olympics and Paralympics. This footfall has not materialised in Leyton and neither has it happened elsewhere in London. Whilst North London Business has worked tirelessly with the help and support of Waltham Forest, the footfall has not increased. As you would expect from an honourable, not for profit company, the NLB board are looking into making sure that NLB does all it can to support the stallholders and are continuing to investigate the situation including consulting with interested parties.
